The purpose of this new Congress is to formulate the rules and regulations pertaining to AMA motorcycle competition, and to deal with National Championship events, In the past this has been the work of a special committee Ialown as the Competition Committee. Elections wiil be held during the first three months in •68 throughout the 25 AMA districts to select one member for each district to represent the clubs in that dis t ric t, Each'AMA chartered motorcycle club will have the opportunity to cast one vote at a district election to be called by the AMA's Executive Director. Elected members will serve two'year terms. All members who hold current professional competition licenses will be eligible to vote in May each year for two members to the Congress from their region, selected from a ballot of professional racers. Six of these members in all will come from the three regions. The industry members of the AMA In order to be represented in the Congress must be either distributors or manufacturers of two wheeled motor vehicles.
