Then the Dutchman came back to turn back Mulder In the Trophy Dash and just miss another Mulder mark that was set last year • The Main Event for the white plates was a Van Leeuwen race all the way as he scored his third main event win In the last three times out. Skip topped the 15lap mark set by DIck Hammer last month by a whisker with Hmmer watching from the stands due to a head Injury trom the Oklahoma National two weeks ago. The hot Expert final was a duel for second between Dusty Coppage and Mulder most of the way unW Coppage sewed It uP 011 the final laps. Jack Simmons brought the crowd to their feet when his throttle stuck open on the next to last lap over the jump. Jack let his machine Oy alone as he balled off In mid-air and later walked away after taking a bard tumble. Tbe Amateur race, like most of the previous events this year, was all Larry WIlburn, the So-year-old rider from Lancaster. Larry zoomed to the fastest heat race win and then led from start to finish In the ten-lap final for his third In a row. Unranked Tom Rockwood scored the major uPSet of the night when he posted the fastest novice heat race win and broke Jimmy Odom's 1966 four-lap mark. Tom then returned to the line 00 his Bullaco and ran away from J1m Petersoo (BSA) In the MaIn Event for his first big win at Ascot this year. The two top Novice riders, petersoo and Chuck Baker, are now tied for the "B" point lead going Into the final TT of the season the first saturday night In November.
