Sliding into tbird place was another Honda rider, Homer Hybarger of Sparks, Nev. All other trophies were awarded as the result of time trials. Here, riding hard in the heats paid off for the racers, many of whom are ioclined to think of heats as -just another practice session.· In the 250cc Expert heat, Bob Vaughan's Honda, tuned hy Honda of Oroville, ran away from second placer Ed Thayer of Redding, on a Bultaco.
