ANOTHER COUNTRY HEARD FROM • Sunday. Nov. 13 at Coal Creek Rac eway , Lafayette. Colo .• th e weather was a little on the foul side. but the racin g was fast and exciting. In the two heat rac e s all classes of bikes ran together. with all 32 of the entered racers making it around the rough and weather beaten cour s e. In the final event the re were 19 starte rs and the first lap was a real doozer. Up and over the hill , rough ground was worsened by sticky mud. Sliding and slipping on the not-too-smooth track ended in many spills and drop outs. Gary Meyers on a Bultaco led Bill Thomas. also on a Bultaco, for a beautiful first half of the 10 lap race . Thomas finally passed Meyers in a sprllS of mud for the 250 overall win. with Meyers coming in s econd, Wayne Fetridge thrilled the spectators on his BSA to take the overall 650 win on a real English SCrambles track .
