Eddie Mulder wins so often that it is difficult to say which is more appropriate, again or still. By winning the 50-lap TT National at Ascot July 23, Eddie laid claim to the title 'Mr. TT" and served notice that he has his sights set on the number 1 plate. As of July 24, Eddie is in fourth place in the National standings with 115 points. Ahead of him are; Bart Markel (192), Sammy Tanner (125), George Roeder (117). With three road races and one TT'left on the National C a len dar. the Burbank Bomber has a very good chance of being Numero Uno. And a well deserved honor it would be. Many observer~ of the racing scene consider this personable young man the best all-around dirt rider in the nationjust the man to be our Grand National Champion. Eddie started riding at the tender age of eight playing in the dirt near his home. When he was eleven he began competing in sportsman events. He bounced into the national limelight by winning the 1960 running of the famous Big Bear Hare and Hound on an Enfield single and then receded into the background of district 37 competition until 1960. In that year Eddie made his debut in professional racing and finished the year as the top novice at Ascot. The fast rising TT star did the same thing in '61 as an .Amateur and in the three years since, he has been heading straight for the top. This might be the year. Eddie is a true professional racerracing is his work. his livelihood, his life. Avocation and vocation, that's what motorcycles are to Eddie Mulder. Only his family comes ahead of his love for motorcycles. That family consists of his wife and three children; Cristie 3 years, Eddie 2 and Richie 1 week. (Congratulations Eddie!) Mulder rides for Triumph of Burbank with Jack Hatley twisting the wrenches to make that Bonneville go. You might say that Eddie works for the advertising department of Triumph of Burbank. "Winning the Peoria National TT of '65" was Eddie's quick reply to the stock question--"What was your big thrill in racing?" Peoria was his first National win and was the first indication that '66 might be the big year for him. The 110 mile National Road Race in Des Moines, Iowa is coming up .August 7 and Eddie is expected to ride that one and the TT at Peoria the same month is definitely on his schedule.
