Suzuki teamsters Haruo Koshino,
Ron Grant and Walt Fulton Jr. were
the men to beat at the " ,Spirit 76"
road races on the fast Willow Springs
course July fourth. They were riding
motorcycles that are used as test
beds for the features that will make
future production Suzuki models as
much better than their competition
as today's bikes are better than any-
again Suzuki and Haruo Koshino
crossing the finish line ahead of all
others.
The Suzuki team really did it in
the 250cc Grand Prix class. This
time the first man home was Ron
Grant riding a Suzuki X-6 Hustler.
Second place went to Haruo Koshino
aboard his trusty 125cc works twin,
and Walt Fulton Jr. of Daytona novice
fame made it a clean sweep for Suzuki
by bringing his X-6 Hustler in for
the third place gold.

Hamo Koshino started the Suzuki
parade with a win in the 50cc Grand

Later in the day, Larry Hynan
showed everybody just how fast a
motorcycle the Suzuki X-6 Hustler is
by winning the 250cc production
class and placing second overall
against machines of up to 883cc.

your dealer has waiting for you - forget it. Larry Hynan was riding a
stock bike because the rules say he
has to. Even those works racers,
though much faster than machines
on the market, are used to test ideas
for future production Suzuki models.
This is the way the Suzuki engineers
learned to build today's bikes to go
so fast - - with the works racers of
yesterday.
Test ride a Suzuki today and
experience the riding thrill that only
a few years ago, was reserved for
the factory riders alone. Something
that you'll get that was denied yesterday's works riders is the smoothness and reliability that are a part
of the Suzuki package. Ever hear of
a racing bike that was comfortable?
Or quiet? Or simple to ride? Of course not. It can't be done. What the
Suzuki engineers have done is combine the speed l es sons learned from
previous works racers with the smooth
comfort made possible by modern
engin eering, making a pleasant bike
that will walk all over the opposition.
