(up fro m $225 million i n 1965) spent
by Americans for the purc hase and
maintenance of motorcy cl es and motorscooters. This would reflect an increasing trend toward the s o- ca lle d
heavyweight mach ines (250cc engines
or more) as well as continuati on of the
interest in lightw ei ght cycles and
scooters. Unit sales co uld incr ease by
more than 200 ,000 - 750,000 mac hin es
-- according to th e MS&ATA. Overall
growth fo r the ye a r sh ould be a pproximately 40 pe rce nt .
