They swapped l eads so of ten that th e winner was decided i n t he last f ew second s of th e t hird heat. As to the track itself, the entrance road leads to the large, marked-off pit area with plenty of space to test ride your machines before practic e and race time. The track is to the left, and is an up and down half-miler with a long sweeping tom to an uphill climb, off camber left, to a sharp ess leading uphill to the jump. The surface is extremely smooth and hard, Class C tra ction recommended. Spectators can see the entire track, as well as Las Vegas itself. A ribbon- cut ting c eremony by Gary Stewart , track owner , .pteceded t he rac es and tbe f irs t eve nt was off . The 50cc Seniors and Juniors ran tog ethe r and t he race was won by D. Despi t e a few missed shifts and a coup l e of wild slides. Danny came out on top wi th his Honda 90. Phil Venezuela stayed clo se i n one heat , but Danny turned it on and edged him out to take the t rophy. 1 think this boy needs more competition and 1 woul d like to see a match betwe en Danny and one of th e t op 100cc s eat ers from Califfornia, maybe a two or t hree-man l o-lap ride for a worthwhil e prize !
