27 , .~ WELCOME CAROL • .. '. . . • Woman's prerogative is to change hermind, and are we glad of it! A couple of weeks ago it was announced in Cycle News that America's favorite girl reporter, Carol Sims, had resigned from Cycle World magazine to become the publicity director for Ascot Park speedway. Now it gives us great pleasure to announce that Caro l has exercised her woman's prerogative and last week decided to become a full-time member of the Cycle News staff. When queried about her change of mind, Carol smiled something about "printer's ink in the veins" and "the excitement of meeting deadlines. " Filling the role of Managing Editor, Carol will be in complete charge of contributor liaison, competition news, proof-reading and correspondence. She will share with Editor Chuck Clayton the responsibility of determining editorial policy. Having worked closely with Miss Sims for more than three years on two of the leading menthties, Editor Clayton has this to say of her new association with CN: "With the addition of Carol's name to the masthead, the staff of cycle News is complete. Her knowledge of where motorcycling is going and where it needs to be led, her close association with leaders of tile American and international sport, her humor and love of people will have free rein to work in the best interests of motorcycl e racing as well as other aspects of the sport.
