Star of the s how was the ultra-high performance 1966 Spitfire Mkll 650cc. This will be the presti ge model with the highest price in the BSA range. Co-starring was the fas t-but-s imple 441cc Victor B-44, which won the W orld Moto-Cross (sc rambles) Champions hip last year and the year before. Reported to turn 83mph in a '4 mile in stand ard trim, the Victor is expecte d to carryon the tradition of BSA si ngles winning locally started by the famous Gold Star des ign. . New V.P. and General Manager Pete Colman, co-hosti ng with exec utive Bill Ceder, greeted dealers from as far away as Alaska and Nebras ka to the " wonderful world of BSA". While wives and daughter s were enjoying a guided tour of San Francisco, the men listened to Mr. William Rawson tell of his 47 years with BSA. He stressed the company's of se curity over three generation s. "PETEY" AWARDS Pete formally opened the 1966 sales season by presenting awards to la st year's top dealers . Ed Seidner, Pres ident Bert 's of Azusa, Norm Reeves of Paramount, Downey and An aheim and Bob Arnold of Oakland' s Cycle Stop ran a race so close according to Pete , " they could have shar ed a blanket". Dewey Ocepek of Seattl e , James Simmerman & Son of Denver , and Bud Hyde 'of Brittons Cycle in Dallas also were top 1965 money. makers. Pete introduced the BSA-Westem team - Dist . Mgrs, Vic 'Cox and R.G. Stanley, Service Mgr. The diary of this trip should make interesting readin g, for the two lads hope to sell their story and their film to a TV Network later on.
