And especially was it welcomed by the riders in the Far West M.C.'s first scrambles slated for Jan . 9th. Although a little soggy, the course was in fine fettle for moto-cross scrambles. It included twenty-two corners of every size and description. Off-camber bends and a rea lly fine downhill section made it a scramblers dream. Some of our local riders were a little dismayed after practise, as few of them had ever seen, let alone ridden such a course before. This is one course that will never see a grader or water truclc. The first show of the day was the lOOcc Amateu r Class. Dennis Palmer (Suzuki) and Ea rl Stevens ( Bridgestone) fought a great duel in each of thei r three races, with Palmer edltinK Ste vens in the final round. . WON ON CLASS C TIRES I There were two ties going into the final Moto-Cross , with Expert Boger Huston winning the 200cc class on his Bultaco . This, despite the horrible handicap of class C tires. Lou Brero toolc the Amateur Expert 250cc on a Montesa, after a bar-to-bar duel with Dennis Miller on a Creeves, Spectators and competitors a1i1ce had a great day's outing, and several more are being planned for the winter months. The Far West club extends an invitation to any old "Nail Flats", and newer riders or watchers who would like to sample some Watch CYCLE genuine Moto-Cross. NEWS.
