Fee Over 200 road riding motorcyclists of Southern California straddled their machines Sat ., Oct. 9th, and rode to Indio for the 1st Annual Indio Tou r spo nsored by the Pacific Coaster s Motorcycle Club of San Diego and the Indio Chamber of Commerce. The weekend activities began with a parade through downtown Indio followed by a performance of precision drill maneuvers by the Ace of Clubs M.C. Best dressed competition was held in the Date Festival Stadium. A fried chicken dinner was served the riders in the fairgrounds cafeteria, after which the program of contests, dancing and awards began. Gene Rom ero was second to Nicholson, who will be seen no more on the Sims Matchless this season. Kruseman's novice win snapped Johnny Isaacs' win streak at ni ne straight mains. Isaacs, Kruseman and Alex Yerkes won the amateur heats. Kruseman came from behind on the fifth lap for his main event victory. Keen and Nicholson both led wireto-wire in their w in s.
