Dick Hammer w as a distant second to Mulder -in all three races Saturday night, as the 21-year-old Bur bank speedster hiked his season poin t total to 710 with one race to go. Hamm er is second with 579, and can't possibly catch Mu lder . Hammer had his troubles in the 15-lap main, bobbling badly several times and dropping back in the pack during the middle stages of the race before passing Ed die Wirth for second place on la p 11. Ski p Van Leeuwen, who went into the next-to-last TT of 1965 only 80 after Mulder. finished third in the dash and fifth in the main to drop to third in points with 574. Skip went off the course once, bobbled a few times while running third and dropped to fifth when Dick Dorresteyn passed him on lap 11. Van Leeuwen even had trouble staving off Travis Petton for the fifth spot. Last w eek we had hi m riding a "Mon ", meani ng Montesa, in the results of the Bay Mare scrambles. Doug says "To the best of my knowledge I believe I have never ri dden Brand X at Bay Mare." He thinks he was as tride h is trusty 'Taco' when he scored second in the 250cc ex pert class. We think so too. We also think som eone in the Scramblers M.C., who provided the results , has a sense of humor. We think Doug Yerkes has a sense of humor too .
