Wayne Rainey was pictured on the cover of Cycle News 30 years ago for
winning the opening round of the World Championship 500cc Road Racing
Series in Japan... Round two of the 125/250cc National MX Series was held

Americans were ruling the road racing scene 20 years ago when Kenny
Roberts Jr. and Colin Edwards captured wins in the Malaysia Grand Prix
and South Africa World Superbike Series, respectively. Both were pictured
on the cover... Jeremy McGrath won the Pontiac Supercross; Stephane
Roncada won the 125cc East main event... Ty Davis won the Dirt Diggers
M.C. National Hare & Hound in Lucerne Valley, California... Shane Watts
won the Big Buck GNCC in South Carolina... James Stewart was the
standout rider at the Spring National C'ship MX at Lake Whitney.
