Covid-19 Round-Up: What's Canceled, Postponed, Or Still A Go A s most of you are aware, the recent outbreak of the virus Covid-19, aka coronavirus, has played havoc with the 2020 motorcycle-racing schedule, including almost all sports in general all around the globe. No new news here. When it comes to some of the major motorcy- cling sports events affected, here is the latest information. While many races are being canceled or postponed, a few are still set to play out. Among the biggest news is the rest of the 2020 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series has been, according to Feld Enter- tainment's words, "postponed until further notice." But five of the seven remaining rounds have been canceled, including last weekend's Indy Supercross. The only rounds left on the schedule that haven't been canceled or postponed yet are the Las Vegas (April 24) and Salt Lake City (May 2) rounds, which, if they indeed happen, will decide this year's Supercross Champion, though there is talk those two rounds could be modified, meaning worth double points, or double- headers, or whatever can be done to help make up for the total five rounds that were canceled. The current Championship leader is Eli Tomac. The 2020 FIM MXGP season, like Monster Energy Supercross, is well underway but has also gone through a major shakeup in its schedule. As of March 16, the next round (round three) is scheduled to take place May 17 in Maggiora, Italy. The American Flat Track Cham- pionship was supposed to start last weekend with the Daytona TT, but it got nixed, as did the Atlanta Short Track (March 28) and Charlotte Half Mile (April 4). These events have been officially postponed. Although the races IN THE WIND P24 Supercross is one of many sporting events around the globe affected by the coronavirus outbreak. The 2020 SX season has been officially put on hold.
