"It's been a long time since I've won the first two and did it with somewhat ease," said Russell. "I got a good start and just kept a steady pace the first three or four laps. I really struggled, but I was able to bide my time and ride mistake-free laps. It's easy to do that when you're not under pressure. Kailub's win was never in doubt, as the FMF/KTM Factory rider grabbed the holeshot and steadily pulled away on the rough and gnarly sand track.
