IIIMY OWN RACE:
51 JUSTIN BARCIA
5TH 450SX
Jus n Barcia is barely keeping his tle
hopes alive with another top-five
finish. "I felt like I should have had a
stronger result, but there were some
posi ves to take from tonight," Barcia
said. "My starts were much be er,
so that was a good thing. We just
struggled with setup all day. We were
trying to adapt to the track and find
that happy place, I just never found it.
I rode well in my heat race. The track
was pre y smooth, but in the main
event, the track roughened up, and
I was just a li le bit uncomfortable.
Aaron and I ba led for a while. It was
a fun race, but I expected a lot more
of myself. I felt like I should have had
a be er result, but we have to take
the posi ves. I had good starts and
qualified pre y well today, which was
something that has hurt us."
7 AARON PLESSINGER
6TH 450SX
Aaron Plessinger enjoyed his best night
of the season and one of the best since
moving up to the 450SX class last year.
Plessinger led much of his heat race
before taking second behind Roczen.
Plessinger went on to finish a season-
high sixth in the main event. "The night
was great," Plessinger said. "I got off
like somewhere around halfway
was when I was able to get going
and make the passes, and Kenny
[Roczen] was out front again, and
I was like, 'I cannot lose these
points right now. This is my good
track!' So, I just had to pin it, hold
it wide open, get to the front. I
had a really good line in the split
lane, I'd say all the way for three-
quarters through the race, and
then Kenny closed in at the end,
and gosh, that was close."
Tomac now leads the points
standings over Roczen by three,
with Webb 23 more points back
and seven rounds still left to run.
It's far from over, but Tomac isn't
buckling under the pressure by
any means.
