RJ Hampshire put in his best overall fin-
ish of the year so far with second place
in Atlanta a er leading the early part
of the race. "Each week, we're going
to con nue to get be er," Hampshire
said. "That was a good glimpse, got
that holeshot, and I felt good. I had a
good flow." Chase Sexton brought a lot
of contact when he passed Hampshire
for the lead. "All's good!" Hampshire
said. "I just kind of leaned into it a bit
there, so I could stay on my bike, but
we're out there racing for more than
just a couple hundred bucks, so I just
want to win."

Shane McElrath finished third in
Atlanta and has now gone 1-2-3 in
the first three rounds. "It was a rough
main, altogether," McElrath said. "We
just had a few problems—I actually
locked bars with RJ going into the first
corner and bent my clutch down a li le
bit and just struggled finding a flow
that me. I'm pre y disappointed with
my ride. I was trying as hard as I could,
I just wasn't flowing. It was really tough
and really disappoin ng."

But in the main event, things
started to go sideways for Tomac.
Ken Roczen (Honda HRC) got
the holeshot while Tomac didn't
get a good start, and as he fought
his way forward, he rushed to the
inside of Rocky Mountain ATV-MC
KTM's Blake Baggett and took
450SX
Everything was going great for
Tomac coming into the Atlanta Su-
percross. He had just taken over
the points standings a couple
races ago and won the Arlington
Supercross last weekend with a
5-1-1 score in the Triple Crown
event. Then, in Atlanta, he quali-
fied on top for the first time this

win and will now
share the red plate
with Eli Tomac.
