CROWN DOWN
ClubMX Yamaha's Joey Crown
went down while riding press day
on Friday and broke his collarbone.
Crown was a solid sixth in points
after the first two rounds, but he'll
be out likely for at least four weeks.
PIERCE BROWN DEBUT
The TLD/Red Bull KTM team
has been without a racer on the
eastern swing of the series for the
last two weeks after the injury to
Brian Moreau at the series opener,
but another supercross rookie on
the team, Pierce Brown, made his
debut in Atlanta. Brown had been
out injured since December and
missed the first two rounds while he
continued to prepare for his debut.
He qualified a strong fourth place
out of the 'B' qualifying session,
went straight into the main from his
heat race, but fell early in the race
and ended up 17th.
TRACK RECORD
For the last five years, the racer who
won the Atlanta Supercross went on
to win the championship that year
as well. They were Ryan Dungey
(2015, 2016, 2017), Jason Anderson
(2018) and Cooper Webb (2019).
