"The night started really well," Roczen said. "But in the main event, I didn't get a good start, and then I got sandwiched in a couple turns as well, and lost like four posi ons. It is what it is." But if one were to have asked him before the series started if he'd be happy a er six rounds to head to the East Coast with two wins and a one-point championship lead? Normally not a fantastic qualifier, Webb qualified fourth within fractions of a second of Adam Cianciarulo (Monster En- ergy Kawasaki), who, for the sixth week in a row, qualified on top. In his heat race, he locked handle- bars off the line with his teammate Eli Tomac and started way back, then fell on the opening lap, but caught up to sixth. In the main event, Webb started just behind Cianciarulo and briefly passed the Kawasaki rider on the opening lap, only for Cianciarulo to take it right back. The pair led Aaron Plessinger (Monster Energy Yamaha) for the first six laps, only 450SX After the 450SX main event last weekend in Oakland, California, Webb (Red Bull KTM) was feeling confident. He said he had figured out some things, not just with his bike but with how he was rac- ing. Prior to the Oakland round, he was riding defensively instead of aggressively. In Oakland, he flipped a switch and started racing with more intensity, and the end result was his best finish of the year with second place. A week later in San Diego, round six of the 2020 Monster Energy/AMA Supercross Series, Webb stepped it up one more spot, winning his first race of 2020. Adam Cianciarulo (9) was poised to take his first career 450SX win, but then Webb (1) came knocking.
