VOLUME 57 ISSUE 6 FEBRUARY 11, 2020 P59 had a solid heat race and it was cool to represent the U.S. Navy on the track with my sister in the stands." BRAYTON/ANDERSON Justin Brayton and Jason Anderson have generated some drama already in 2020. At Anaheim 2, Brayton was pretty pissed off after the race and said that Anderson blasted him. In San Diego, Brayton returned the favor and knocked Anderson down as he and Anderson battled it out at the tail end of the top 10 early in the main event. Anderson ended up 14th, while Brayton got seventh and a trip to the AMA truck for a talking- to. No penalty was issued. TICKLEBACK Former 250SX West champ Broc Tickle was suspended from racing for two years following his failure of a WADA urinalysis at the 2018 San Diego Supercross, where he finished fifth. He was busted for an ingredient in an over-the-counter supplement that had a different name on the label from the name WADA uses on their banned-sub- stances list. It cost him his factory Red Bull KTM ride and two years of his racing career. Now 30 years old, Tickle's suspension expires this week, and he was planning on returning to racing on a Husqvarna after putting together his own set of sponsors, but with Joey Savatgy breaking his heel during the off- season and Freddy Noren breaking his leg at round two of the 2020 450SX series, the JGR/Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing team gave Tickle a call. Tickle tested the bike for a couple weeks, then in order to give Tickle the ride, the team had to get the okay from team sponsors Answer Racing and Arai Helmets, because Tickle is contracted to wear FXR gear and Alpinestars hel- mets. Reports are that things have come together, though, and Tickle will be making his JGR debut this coming weekend in Tampa, Florida. THE ITCH Former amateur standout and facto- ry Yamaha star Josh Hill retired from racing a few years ago and spent a few years with a real job, working for Monster Energy, while also do- ing testing (and occasional racing) for now-defunct electric-motorcycle company Alta Motors. Not happy with the desk life, Hill—older brother of current MotoConcepts/Bullfrog Spas Honda racer Justin Hill—has decided to jump back into racing. Now 30 years old, he'll be on board Briefly... Championship front runners Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac (the only two- time winners this year) were non- factors for the win this time.
