SUPERCROSS MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 5 / FEBRUARY 1, 2020 RINGCENTRAL COLISEUM / OAKL AND, CALIFORNIA P66 Cooper with Forkner another eight points back as the 250SX West se- ries heads to its final round before it goes on hiatus for the 250SX East series to start up in Tampa, Florida, in two weeks. CN 450SX 1. Eli Tomac (Kaw) 2. Cooper Webb (KTM) 3. Ken Roczen (Hon) 4. Adam Cianciarulo (Kaw) 5. Jason Anderson (Hus) 6. Justin Barcia (Yam) IIIMY OWN RACE: 51 JUSTIN BARCIA 6TH 450SX Jus n Barcia (Monster Energy Yamaha) had a mechanical in his heat race, but even a er a bad start in the main event (due to transferring through the LCQ) he recovered well and s ll sits third in points. "Because I had to go to the LCQ, I started on the far outside in the main, and I think I was around 15th or something," Barcia said. "But I went forward a lot and caught up to sixth, so it was good. It was a super posi ve weekend. My momentum was forward, and I felt like I rode my ass off, and my bike worked really well. We did a lot of tes ng last week and made improvements, and it's the most comfortable I've felt on the bike since St. Louis, so we're moving forward. When it's me to win, I'll be ready to win, that's for sure. Tonight was one of those nights where things didn't all work perfectly, but I can only kind of control the 'A' and the 'B' was out of my hands a li le, so maybe if I could've had a be er gate pick and started up front, it would've been different." 94 KEN ROCZEN 3RD 450SX Ken Roczen wasn't as sharp in Oakland as he had been in previous weeks, but he s ll leaves Oakland with the points Austin Forker (pictured) finished second to Ferrandis and trails the new points leader by 10 in the championship. lead. "The last few weekends, I've felt good in prac ce and stuff, but this weekend I felt a li le bit slow," Roczen said. "I wasn't really riding too good on the track and it took me a li le bit longer to get everything down. That said, I'm happy to be on the podium. Obviously, I gave up a couple cham- pionship points at the end there, but I just wasn't the fastest tonight, and I made a couple big mistakes with three laps to go. They took a lot of me and that allowed Cooper [Webb] to sneak in there. When you're behind somebody on the last lap like that, you can kind of pick your lines and try to make something happen, which he did. I'm obviously not too happy about that, but that's racing, and looking at the big picture, we've been on the podium a lot, and overall I'm s ll happy to be on the podium."
