IIIMY OWN RACE:
3 ELI TOMAC
2ND 450SX (2-2-3)
"On most of those starts, I came out
in the top five, but on the restarts, I
didn't put myself in the best posi ons,
so that was the difference tonight,
for sure," said Eli Tomac. "In moto
[main event] one, Ken [Roczen] had
a good reac on in the outside in the
sand and ran away with that one, so I
just needed to be a li le bit be er in
a few areas tonight. I kind of was the
number-two guy tonight."
21 JASON ANDERSON
3RD 450SX (5-3-2)
Jason Anderson is quietly pu ng him-
self into posi on to be a contender at
the top of the field yet again. The 2018
AMA Supercross champ improved in
every race in Glendale. "To be in the
ba le with these guys, I need to get in
there on the start, and it seems that
when I'm si ng in fi h, these guys
break away so quick. I think being up
there and ge ng myself in the race
right away is important," Anderson
said. "As far as speed goes, I think
some mes they have a li le more
speed than me, but I think if I could get
of the hour, sweeping all three main
events on his way to his second win of
2020.
"There was a lot of madness go-
ing on tonight," Roczen said. "After
that second start, I went all the way
up there and started braking, and
the guys on the inside just plowed
to the front right there. I was kind of
shocked; it was like a 250 start—they
just didn't let off. Obviously, that
brought out a red flag. I just try to
have a clean slate every time some-
thing like that [a red flag] happens. I
had good battles tonight with Eli, obvi-
ously, and had a lot of fun. I'm really
confident on my starts right now, so
that helps. I had two holeshots tonight
and just rode really calm, really well.
Overall we were really focused. I'm
still blown away on having three main-
event wins [on the night]. It's great. I
had an awesome time tonight."
