a sixth in the second main event (after a minor fall). But in the final main event Cian- ciarulo went down hard while running third with a few laps to go, landing flat on his back in the whoops. He eventually got up after the checkered flag flew and rode across the finish line in 17th, which gave him eighth on the night. After the race, he spent quite a lot of time in the Alpinestars Medical Center getting checked out, but he says he should be ready to go for the Oakland Supercross, albeit a bit sore. OSBORNE DQ'D Zach Osborne went 22-11 in the first two main events in Glendale (he was leading the first main event early, only to lose the front end in a corner and go down, and it was downhill from there), and then he was disqualified from the final main event for a technical violation. The final main of the night was red-flagged on lap two after Chris Blose went down in the whoops, and the Alpinestars Medical crew determined he was in too dangerous of a spot on the track. Osborne was DQ'd after he left the stadium prior to the restart. The AMA rules state: "Once a motorcycle enters the stag- ing area and is called to the starting gate, the motorcycle will not be permitted to return to the paddock. If the motor- cycle leaves the staging area after this point the rider will not be permitted to start the race." SUZUKI'S LONE SOLDIER Alex Martin is Suzuki's lone soldier in the 250SX West class, and the JGR/ Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team rider continued to put the yellow bike among the front-runners at times but seventh overall at Glendale is not what he envisioned. A crash while testing earlier in the week didn't help matters, as he came into the Glendale race with a sore leg. "It was great to see Alex getting good starts and pushing through his best after crash- ing hard on Wednesday in practice," said Team Man- ager Jeremy Albrecht. "Alex busted out the quad [jump] in the race, something not many 250 riders were able to do. He tried his best, but he struggled in right hand turns due to his sore leg." Albrecht added, "Alex is coming to our test facility this week to improve his whoop speed and test some new parts. I believe in Alex and our team to get up on the box soon. Next week he will be in better shape and I expect better re- sults." The JGR Team is void a 450SX rider at the moment with Fredrik Noren sidelined with an injury and 450cc fill- in rider Jimmy Decotis now preparing for the start of the 250SX East Championship. VOLUME 57 ISSUE 4 JANUARY 28, 2020 P53 In the final of the three main events, Roczen and Tomac found themselves duk- ing it out for a position near the tail end of the top 10, but again the red flag flew after Chris Blose went down in the whoops and the Alpinestars Medical Crew had to attend to him. On the restart, Roczen remedied his start and quickly took over the lead while Tomac again found himself mired in the pack. Tomac was running fourth late in the main event when his teammate Adam Cianciarulo— fastest qualifier at every round in 2020 so far—went down hard at the end of the whoops and landed awkwardly on his back, scoring a DNF. This gave Tomac third in the main and second overall. Anderson was third overall just in front of defending champ Cooper Webb (Red Bull KTM) and round-one winner Justin Barcia (Monster Energy Yamaha). But Roczen was, once again, the man
