IN THE WIND P40 Fahringer Re-Signs With Sherco N ick Fahringer has signed on with the new FactoryONE Sherco team. Already a Sherco team rider, the Ohioan is fresh off of win- ning the season finale of the ACES (Appalachian Champion- ship Enduro Series) Peace Pipe Enduro, of which, he won most of the rounds but fell shy of the championship due to missing two rounds because of conflicts with racing the Tennessee Knockout and by getting married to his pit crew, Ashley. "I am happy to remain on a Sherco for 2020 after a few years of getting very comfortable on the French bike and reinventing my career to the tune of hard enduro racing," Fahringer said. "It's exciting to see the expansion effort Sherco USA is putting into the US market, and I look forward to being a part of it. From nation- wide racing efforts and dealer expansion to more personnel to help the Sherco community enjoy their ride." Fahringer's focus will be the American hard enduro series and a variety of events. CN Bou Tops X-Trial Opener T he opening round of FIM X-Trial World Championship, held on the island of RĂ©union (a region of France), November 16, saw another triumph from Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou. The Repsol Honda Team rider continues to be on top form. The crowd at the curtain-raising event of the new season witnessed a dazzling performance from Bou in the Stade Jean Ivoula, in Saint- Denis, capital of RĂ©union, who becomes the provisional leader in the 2020 championship stand- ings. Bou made his maiden outing in the venue in spectacular style. In the first qualifying phase, with competitors facing five sec- tions, Bou was already looking leagues ahead of his adversar- ies with just six marks on the scorecard. In the second, with only the winner of each group making the cut for the final, the champion again lapped with a mere six penalty marks. In the final, up against one of his fiercest rivals Adam Raga, Bou scored 10 marks compared to the 16 collected by Raga. "I am very happy to start off winning," Bou said. "For us, it was really important. Today I felt at ease with my riding, and I had a very good first round. Now it's time to think about next week, as in this championship it is very easy to not get through to the semi-finals or the other round for that matter, as everything is really tight. It is very important to come away from this first trial with these twenty points." CN FINAL 1. Toni Bou (Hon) 2. Adam Rago (Ver) 3.
