a four-time MotoAmerica
Superbike Champion after taking
a double victory at Barber Mo-
torsports Park, turning what was
a 16-point deficit into a five-point
advantage thanks to chief title ri-
val Toni Elias' (Yoshimura Suzuki)
fourth- and third-place finishes.
Beaubier's championship win
puts the Californian on par with
Yamaha legend Josh Hayes with
four titles, one ahead of Ben
Spies. Australian Mat Mladin
leads the all-time superbike title
tally with seven.
"I can't even believe we were in
this position going into this race—
seven points out of the lead after
yo-yo-ing to 30 points back on
Toni, and we're sitting here with
the number-one plate. I just can't
