LOOKING BACK
Forty years ago, Broc Glover captured his third AMA 125cc National MX
title. Glover was pictured on the cover after clinching the title at Metrolina
Speedway Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mark Barnett won the
125cc class that day, as did Mike Bell in the 500cc class… Mike Kidd,
Steve Eklund and Garth Brow went 1-2-3 at the Topeka Half Mile… Erik
Kehoe outdueled rival George Holland for top honors at the NMA GNC
Finals at Ponca City, which was held there for just the second time.

Sidehacks got special attention 50 years ago. A pack of sidehack
racers was pictured on the cover of Cycle News in 1969. The photo
was taken at the Rodeo Fairgrounds in Salinas, California, during the
Cerebral Palsy Benefit Scrambles race. We said it was the worlds
largest sportsman scrambles… We covered the Lost Angels TT race in
Tijuana B.C., Mexico… We also covered the Junior Mini Scrambles at
Saddleback Park. The So. Cal. Mini and Kart Association host the races.
