JULY 12, 1989
Kevin Windham took the overall win in the 250cc class at the AMA
National Motocross at RedBud. Windham went 1-2, topping Greg
Albertyn's 3-1. Ricky Carmichael won both 125cc motos… Chris
Carr battled Scott Parker and Will Davis for the big win at the Indy
Mile… Destry Abbott and Brian Brown teamed up and won the Silver
State 300 in Nevada… Doug Blackwell won the AMA National Hare
Scrambles in Ottawa, Illinois. It was his second consecutive win…
Alex Criville won the Dutch Grand Prix.
We featured a photo from the Mammoth Mountain Motocross on the
cover 30 years ago. Rick Johnson won the 125, 250 and Open
Expert classes… Scott Parker took over the GNC points lead after
winning the Hagertown Half Mile… The AMA National MX Series
visited RedBud, and Jeff Stanton won the 250cc class and George
Holland the 125cc class… Wayne Rainey won the Dutch Grand Prix.
Kevin Schwantz was leading until his bike broke two laps from the
finish… Kurt Hough won the Task
Two-Day ISDE Qualifier.
