VOLUME 56 ISSUE 26 JULY 2, 2019 P51 MISSING MOSIMAN Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Michael Mosiman looked like he was getting used to running up front in the 250MX Nation- als, and he went 3-5 a week prior to Southwick in Florida, but he had a crash during the week and suffered what's been reported as a "minor injury," but he indi- cated on his social media that he should be back for RedBud next weekend. If that's the case, it's probably a safe bet that he hit his head prior to the South- wick round, missed that race due to the concussion, and hopes to be ready to go for RedBud. SAVATGY COMPLICATIONS Monster Energy Kawasaki's Joey Savatgy was fast at Southwick. He qualified 10th and was battling for a top-five finish in the first moto when he encountered some kind of technical problem with his KX450 and went into the mechanics' area before dropping out of the moto altogether. But he rebounded in moto two for eighth de- spite the poor gate pick as a result of the moto-one DNF. NOREN TO JGR Several weeks ago we reported that Freddie Noren was interested in racing for JGR, and he apparently got the phone call after the Florida National. Noren rode the JGR Suzuki back-to-back with his privateer Honda, and his times on the Suzuki were better, so he made the switch as of the Southwick National. One thing that likely made the switch easy for Noren was that he was already running Pirelli tires on his Honda, and JGR uses Pirelli, too. In his first race at JGR as a fill- in rider for Justin Hill, Noren went 5-7 for seventh overall. To put this in perspective, the best moto finish Justin Hill had prior to exiting the series with a shoulder injury was seventh place. Briefly...
