MISSING MOSIMAN
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Michael
Mosiman looked like he was getting used
to running up front in the 250MX Nation-
als, and he went 3-5 a week prior to
Southwick in Florida, but he had a crash
during the week and suffered what's been
reported as a "minor injury," but he indi-
cated on his social media that he should
be back for RedBud next weekend. If
that's the case, it's probably a safe bet
that he hit his head prior to the South-
wick round, missed that race due to the
concussion, and hopes to be ready to go
for RedBud.
SAVATGY COMPLICATIONS
Monster Energy Kawasaki's Joey Savatgy
was fast at Southwick. He qualified 10th
and was battling for a top-five finish in the
first moto when he encountered some
kind of technical problem with his KX450
and went into the mechanics' area before
dropping out of the moto altogether. But
he rebounded in moto two for eighth de-
spite the poor gate pick as a result of the
moto-one DNF.
NOREN TO JGR
Several weeks ago we reported that
Freddie Noren was interested in racing
for JGR, and he apparently got the phone
call after the Florida National. Noren
rode the JGR Suzuki back-to-back with
his privateer Honda, and his times on
the Suzuki were better, so he made the
switch as of the Southwick National. One
thing that likely made the switch easy for
Noren was that he was already running
Pirelli tires on his Honda, and JGR uses
Pirelli, too. In his first race at JGR as a fill-
in rider for Justin Hill, Noren went 5-7 for
seventh overall. To put this in perspective,
the best moto finish Justin Hill had prior
to exiting the series with a shoulder injury
was seventh place.
