oni Elias (Yoshimura
Suzuki) took two race
wins at Utah Motorsports
Campus and re-emerged as the
MotoAmerica Superbike Cham-
pionship favorite, extending his
series lead to 26 points over
Cameron Beaubier (Monster
Energy Yamaha).
Elias would take race one at a
canter over the Westby Racing
Yamaha of South Africa's Mathew
Scholtz, with Garrett Gerloff
(Monster Energy Yamaha) taking
another podium place in third.
Beaubier made it a little easier
for Elias than he'd expected in
race one. After qualifying on
pole, the Californian finished
fourth after leading the early
laps. In the end, he was helped
by JD Beach (Estenson Yamaha)
crashing out and Yoshimura
Suzuki's Josh Herrin dropping to
sixth with back pain issues. M4
Suzuki's Jake Lewis finished race
one in a season-best fifth place.
