MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 4 / JUNE 15, 2019 HIGH POINT RACEWAY / MT. MORRIS, PENNSYLVANIA P62 iii My Own Race: 4 BLAKE BAGGETT 7TH (1-15) 450MX Blake Baggett was flying in the first 450MX moto, so much so that it most likely caused de- fending champ Eli Tomac to fall just trying to keep up with his pace. He won the opening moto going away. "I've had a lot of success here," Baggett said. "But at the same time, this is where the 'Chupacabra' started; I was leading and went down, so, every time I get out front here, I just have that weird feeling of trying to keep it on two wheels. I've got to give it up to the whole team; we've been working hard, and we haven't done anything the first three rounds, so it feels good to get up here. We're trying. I know you haven't seen much of us, but we'll try to be up here more." In the second moto, Baggett's fear became a reality, as he fell hard while running outside the top five and ended up 15th in the moto with a twisted motorcycle. 94 KEN ROCZEN 2ND (6-1) 450MX Ken Roczen had a sobering opening moto, starting and finishing in approximately the same position, but he switched his motorcycle's chassis settings back to what he used to win in Colorado, and it paid off with a moto-two victory. "I was just going to charge, do the best I can," Roczen said. "I went back to my Colorado settings because the first race was awful; I couldn't even ride. I felt a lot more comfortable out there, so that helped me out a lot. I just wanted to charge, get a moto win. I didn't know if it was going to give me first overall, or second, but all I could do was go out and get that win. I bumped elbows with Jason [Anderson] and somebody else on the start, so my start was kind of terrible, and I just charged to the front." 21 JASON ANDERSON 3RD (2-5) 450MX Jason Anderson held off defending champ Eli Tomac in the first moto, and was almost able to do it in moto two as well, but came up about four laps short. "Outdoors, Eli's a beast, so I tried my best, I was holding him off, and there was about four to go, but I got kind of held up a little bit," Anderson said. "But all-in-all, I'm getting better every weekend, and I'm getting closer to getting that number-one spot. I can't be bummed about it. I'm super excited to be out here. After this injury, it's been tough, but we're coming back." 2 COOPER WEBB 4TH (7-3) 450MX Cooper Webb ran near the front in both motos at High Point. He ran as high as second in the opening moto and led moto two for about half the race, which was a vast improvement over recent weeks. "I just haven't run that pace in a long time," he said. "It was good. It was a really good race for me, obviously, to lead most of the moto. Then Kenny [Roczen] got around me, and I tried to stay with him, but their pace is really high, so I'm pumped with that. I battled with Eli and held on for a podium position. I had a big crash in the first one, so I'm lucky to be okay from that, but it was a huge turnaround this weekend. I'm feeling better. I'm just stoked to be up front and running with these guys." them in short order, taking advan- tage of their mistakes, first going by Nichols, then Cooper, and then Dylan Ferrandis, but once he got up to second, he had nothing for Lawrence out front. "It was really tough," Ciancia- rulo said. "[My] start was hor- second to that point, then went right around Cooper for the lead and took off. This triggered a slide for Cooper, who eventually finished sixth in the moto. Cianciarulo had a trio of Star Racing pilots in front of him at one point, but he dispatched of opening moto and led the early laps while points leader Adam Cianciarulo worked his way forward from outside the top five. But barely more than a handful of laps into the race, Lawrence fought his way by Cooper's teammate Colt Nichols, who ran
