Kevin Windham and Colin Edwards shared the cover of Cycle News
20 years ago. Windham won the 250cc MX National at Hangtown, and
Edwards won the second leg of the World Superbike round in Albacete,
Spain. Noriyuki Haga won the first leg, and Ricky Carmichael won the
125cc class at Hangtown… We covered the Manahawkin GNCC in New
Jersey, where Australian Shane Watts took the overall win… Henny
Ray Abrams interviewed road racer John Kocinski, and Eric Johnson
chatted with motocrosser Ryan Hughes.
Honda-mounted Doug Chandler made the cover 30 years ago after
winning the Ascot Half Mile… SCORE International announced that
motorcycles would not be allowed to participate in the upcoming
Baja 500 due to a conflict with local ranchers and the Mexican
government… Kevin Hines took the overall win at the Cherry Pit
National Enduro in Traverse City, Michigan. It was his first win since
1987.… Tyson and Tallon Vohland were the stars at the Mickey
Thompson Off-Road Championship
GP Series at the Rose Bowl.
