Brooks Doubles Oulton Park BSB
J
osh Brookes got his Bennetts
British Superbike Champion-
ship title attack firmly back on
track at Oulton Park, May 4-5,
as the Be Wiser Ducati rider
celebrated a double race win in
Cheshire to fire himself back into
the top six in the early standings
after a tough opening round.
Brookes had been strong
throughout the weekend, as
the 2015 champion arrived in
Cheshire determined to make
amends for a non-point score at
the Silverstone season opener.
The Be Wiser Ducati ace became
the third different rider to claim
a victory in 2019, as he held off
Tommy Bridewell in both races.
As Brookes and Bridewell
battled for the win in the closing
stages, Danny Buchan celebrated
his third consecutive podium finish
for FS3-Racing Kawasaki. CN

Re-Signs Malcolm Stewart
M
alcolm Stewart, who finished sixth at Anaheim 1 before breaking
his femur the following week in round two of the 2019 Monster
Energy AMA Supercross Championship, has re-signed with his
Smartop/Bullfrog Spas/Honda Team for 2020.
"I'm very excited and blown away at how we did the deal! We were
in the middle of the autograph signing and the next thing you know, I
was signing a contract," said Stewart of the extension. "I'm so happy
and it's great to be with the team for another year. I'm thankful that they
gave me another shot and excited to work with the same great group
again. I have a whole year to get ready for Anaheim 1 next year!"
"Our team is very loyal to our riders," said Team Manager Tony
Alessi, "especially when they are making the needed improvements
daily to their race program. It's only natural for us as a team to resume
where we left off with Malcolm Stewart for the 2020 race season."
"To get things moving in the right direction early
is always good. It's actually one of the reasons we
choose to do a supercross-only program, be-
cause it gives us more time to perfect our team,"
said team owner Mike Genova. "Malcolm has
proved that he puts in the work and is committed,
and we all know how fast he is. It's a great combi-
nation. Because of the way he was injured, we felt
he deserved another shot." CN
Malcolm Stewart is set
for another year on the
Smartop/Bullfrog Spas/
Honda Team.
