SUPERCROSS ROUND 15 / APRIL 13, 2019 DENVER, COLORADO / BRONCOS STADIUM AT MILE HIGH P66 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS iii My Own Race: 2 COOPER WEBB 2ND 450SX Cooper Webb had good speed in Denver, but any chance he had of running with Eli Tomac out front evaporated as soon as Tomac began moving through the field toward the lead, leaving Webb behind. "It was tough," Webb said. "I was right there with Eli, and he made his passes real quick and pretty much like he said, you had to make it count and make it stick. The track was difficult to pass on, and I just didn't do that. I played it a little nice and was trying to do some passes, and they just weren't working. I really lost some ground there, and then finally I was able to kind of make a move, and that's when I felt like I was clicking. I just felt like we were all in a train kind of getting held up, so that was my only down- fall at this track. It was a little difficult to pass without being aggressive, so I need to be better, but it was good to break away from that and charge forward." 25 MARVIN MUSQUIN 3RD 450SX Marvin Musquin was tied with Eli Tomac for second in the championship coming into Denver, but although he got the holeshot in the 450SX main event, he struggled with the track and eventually finished third, losing valuable ground to both Webb and Tomac in the title chase. "I think I was struggling a little bit," Musquin said. "The conditions were definitely tough, and I tried my best, but I was losing some time in a couple sections of the track. I had some decent laps, but I was not able to do that the whole main, unfortunately." 94 KEN ROCZEN 7TH 450SX Time is running out for Ken Roczen. The Honda HRC rider finished a disappointing seventh in Denver and has only two more chances this season to that long-awaited AMA Supercross win. "Today was a struggle," Roczen said. "I felt off all day. Qualify- ing didn't go great, then I got bad starts in both races, and I just ran out of steam in the main event. I'm trying to get my body back to 100 percent but it's been a chal- lenge, so I'm really looking forward to a weekend off. I've been fighting fatigue and trying to figure out what's going on for a while now, so it's been hard to come to the races feeling the way I have been. The elevation today definitely didn't help either." 14 COLE SEELY 19TH 450SX Cole Seely's day started well but ended not so good. "I'm bummed with how tonight ended, considering how well it started," Seely said. "We've been making steady progress, and I've had some good rides the past couple weeks, so I was hoping to build on that. My heat race was great, but the main event was a different story. My start wasn't good, and then I just had multiple incidents, going down once and then coming together with Alex Ray and getting his footpeg in my front wheel. I could hear and kind of see the broken spokes, but I didn't know how many were actually broken, so I didn't want to risk it. I pulled in, and they changed it so I could at least go out and finish." 34 DYLAN FERRANDIS 2ND 250SX WEST Dylan Ferrandis came into Denver just five points behind championship rival Adam Cianciarulo, but he could only muster second place. While in the past, Ferrandis might have been happy with that position, he didn't pretend he was pleased with second under these circumstances. "It's not a good result," Ferrandis said. "I was five points behind, and now I'm eight, so we can't say it was a good result. I should've won this race if I wanted the championship, and now I'm losing points. And in Vegas, we saw in the last East/West Showdown, that AC and I were faster, so if it's the same, it's going to be tough for me to get the championship. So, I hope to be a little bit lucky, and we'll see. We all know in Vegas anything can happen so I will do everything I can to challenge for this championship, and we'll see. But the result is definitely not what we expected tonight."
