Fonseca and Gene Romero 20 years ago… We covered the AMA/PJ1
Arenacross from Salt Lake City, where Buddy Antunez came away with
the win… Scott Summers won the Big Buck GNCC in South Carolina…
David Vuillemin won the 250cc World Championship Motocross round
in Megalopolis, Greece… Chase Reed was the big winner at the Spring
National MX at Lake Whitney Motocross Park in Texas. Blake Baggett
won the 51cc (4-6) Stock and Modified class Championship.
Kevin Schwantz was pictured on the cover for our Laguna Seca GP
preview… Schwantz also passed Wayne Rainey on the last lap to win the
opening round of the World Championship Road Race Series at Suzuka.
Eddie Lawson filled out the podium… Jeff Stanton fell on the last lap of
the Dallas Supercross handing the win over to Jeff Ward. Jeff Matiasevich
won the 125cc main event… Fabrizio Pirovano and Giancarlo Falappa
split wins at the opening round of the World Championship Superbike
Series at Donington Park.
