VOL. 56 ISSUE 13 APRIL 2, 2019 P29 Golden Tyre/Fly Racing KX450 rider said. "I'm more excited for the Idaho or [Nevada] ones because that's out of my element, per se. It pumps me up the first little bit, especially since I can't warm up to- day, I know I'll pump up." And indeed he did pump up in the first test on Sunday, though it strangely turned out to be faster than his second time around. Though Baker put in some good rides aboard his Six Five-O Racing/Mi- tas/Fast House XC 300— beating Argubright in the second test on Saturday and setting the fastest time in test one on Sunday—it was plain to see that Olivei- ra was getting more and more comfortable with the area as the day went on. Sunday was definitely his day; he dominated test one the second time around, won test two comfortably on both laps and finished the day by winning test three on the final lap. "It was a little tricky the first day because all the [tests] were virgin [trail] and I was one of the first guys through it," the Carson City Motorsports/Motorex/Klim 350 XC-F rider said. "But as the day went on, it got better. It was an awesome course; I had a blast. There was a lot of technical stuff, and the first [test] was killer—it was super-fast, more grass-track style. I felt like a rode a lot better [on Sunday]." Total entries for the weekend was positive at 317; of that, on Sunday, 33 were Letter of Intent riders. Local D-37 riders comprised most of the field, but the race drew en- tries from Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon and Washington, as well. To be considered for one of the five U.S. ISDE Club teams (three riders per team) headed to Portugal in November, the AMA will select the top seven overall from both East and West Regions based on best four finishes out of the six total days per region. Several other Club berths will be selected by the AMA ISDE Advisory Committee as well as the Women's World Trophy, Junior World Trophy and World Trophy team members. Mark Kariya DAY ONE 1. Jacob Argubright (Kaw) 2. JT Baker (GG) 3. Dante Oliveira (KTM) 4. Clayton Hengeveld (Kaw) 5. Nic Garvin (Hon) DAY TWO 1. Dante Oliveira (KTM) 2. Jacob Argubright (Kaw) 3. Nick Burson (Yam) 4. JT Baker (GG) 5. Axel Pearson (Yam) (Above) Dante Oliveira topped Sunday's field and claimed the biggest chunk of the $1000-plus purse. (Below) JT Baker started strong both days though a few mistakes in the remaining tests knocked him back to a 2-4 weekend.
