which he so desperately wants

In the 250SX West class,
Dylan Ferrandis (Monster
Energy/Yamalube/Star Racing
Yamaha) finally broke through
to win his first-ever 250SX main
event after four second-place
finishes in the season so far. The
win, by just a second over points
leader Adam Cianciarulo, moved
Ferrandis up to within 12 points
of Cianciarulo in the title chase
with three rounds left to run.

the AMA safety rules during the
display of a red-cross flag, in
this case when Chad Reed went
down. The rules state that, when
the red-cross flag is displayed,
riders must keep both wheels on
the ground until clear of the inci-
dent. Musquin, however, clearly
jumped through the section.
This rule violation left Musquin
with a seven-point penalty, which
meant that both he and his team-
mate, Webb, scored 19 points
on the night.
Despite the off-day for Webb,
Musquin didn't make up any
ground in the championship,

The once-tight 250SX Western
Regional Supercross Championship
has essentially (if not mathemati-
cally) lost two of its four former title
contenders as of the Seattle round
of the series. Round-one winner
and early points leader Colt Nichols
was hoping to rebound after a
couple of less-than-stellar rounds
of racing and put himself up front
in the main event, but went down
hard while leading. On his way
down, he caught his right thigh on
the left handlebar, which is where
his femur was broken approximately
18 months ago. His leg went numb,
