C
ooper Webb hasn't been quite as
"on fire" for the last couple rounds
of the 2019 Monster Energy AMA
Supercross Championship, but even so,
the last time he finished off the podium
was in the mud of San Diego almost two
months ago. The closest man to Webb in
the points standings, his Red Bull KTM
teammate Marvin Musquin, came into
the Seattle Supercross—surprisingly not
a mud race this year—14 points behind
Webb in the title chase, and Webb strug-
gled all day. Webb qualified 11th during
the day, then surprised everyone when
he won his heat race by holding off Eli
Tomac the whole way, but he continued
to struggle in the main event. An "off day"
for Webb is a night when he doesn't finish
on the podium, and that's what happened
in Seattle, where Webb finished fourth.
It's on nights like this when Musquin must
make the best of his competitor's misfor-
tune, and he did that. Well, almost.
Musquin led every lap of the 450SX
main event, but, on the second lap, while
Marvin Musquin (25)
won in Seattle but his
points advantage was
taken away for jumping
on a red-cross flag.
