pointing in his direction behind the
scenes over the last couple of years,
as Tomac struggled to find comfort on
his KX450. It is not clear as to the exact
reason is for his departure, as the team
has been tight-lipped about his leaving.

Monster Energy Yamaha signed Josh
Grant as a fill-in rider to finish out the
remainder of the AMA Supercross Se-
ries for the team, taking over for Aaron
Plessinger, who suffered a broken heel
at the Daytona Supercross. Grant had
a tough night, finishing 10
th
in his heat
race and crashing out of a possible
transfer position in the LCQ.
REED INJURED
Chad Reed went down hard in the first
rhythm section in the main event after
he tangled with Justin Brayton, then
Kyle Chisholm landed on Reed and
smashed him between Chisholm's Su-
zuki and Brayton's Honda. Reed gave
an update on his Instagram page, and
it spells the end of his 2019 season.
He broke eight ribs, his right shoulder
blade, and collapsed his right lung in
the crash. At the end of his Instagram
post, sounding like the terminator, the
37-year-old wrote, "I'll be back!"
BRAYTON BANGED UP
Justin Brayton said that he may have
torn his ACL/MCL in his left knee in the
crash with Reed in the main. He'll be
having it checked out this week but is
questionable at best for the upcoming
Houston round. If results come back
that his knee is definitely injured, chanc-
es are his 2019 series is over, too. But
despite his age, Brayton has a couple
more years on his Honda contract, rac-
ing for Motoconcepts.
