IN THE WIND P40 TUCKER SHOW ATTRACTS KEY BRANDS & DEALERS T ucker Powersports is one of the major dis- tributors of aftermarket products to motorcycle dealers in North America. The company is part of Motorsport Aftermarket Group (MAG), which also owns several major brands including Vance & Hines, Answer Racing, Pro Taper and Performance Machine. After exiting bankruptcy last spring, MAG and Tucker have been making significant changes to get the company back on track. Greg Blackwell, an industry veteran, was named senior vice president of sales and marketing in No- vember. Soon after, Hugh Charvat was named CEO of MAG. And over the past few weeks, Jason Potter was named VP of sales at Tucker, and Jim Barker returned to the company as VP of marketing. These changes in leadership were well received by the Tucker sales reps, 180 plus vendors and hundreds of dealers that attended the annual Tucker Show in Fort Worth, Texas, January 24-25. The Tucker show is a dealer-only show aimed at showing powersports dealers all of the new prod- ucts that will be available for the coming riding sea- son and the buzz was very positive. Thirteen new brands available via Tucker were among the ven- dors including Sena Communications, Zulz Bag Co. and Muc-Off. After two days of rep training followed by two days for dealers, the week was capped off with a Friday night party that included live music, games and a poker tournament. Based on the enthusiasm from dealers and the new products on display, 2019 should be a good year for motorcy- cling and Tucker. CN Tucker Powersports held its annual dealer show in Fort Worth, Texas. RAGA TOPS BARCELONA X-TRIAL S pain's Adam Raga (TRRS Factory Team) emerged victorious in round two of the FIM X-Trial World Championship in Barcelona, Spain, Febru- ary 2. Raga edged out defending champ Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Team) by just one point in the final. Bou suffered a hard fall during the semi-final leaving him with an injured back. He continued on, though, making to the final round but was unable to match Raga's performance when it counted. "In the semi-final, I suffered a hard fall, but it seems that everything amounted to a scare and it is not a serious injury, although I was worried that I had done the same as what happened last year," Bou said. Jaime Busto (Gas Gas Factory Team) made it an all-Spaniard podium with third place. Raga and Bou are now tied for the lead in the championship.
