Doug Henry was our 1998 Cycle News Rider of the Year and was
pictured on the cover… We featured interviews with Henry, Ben
Bostrom, Carl Fogarty, Dave Bertram, Mick Doohan, Geoff Aaron,
Matt Hines, Scott Parker, Nick and Russell Pearson, and Rodney
Smith… Tucked inside the mammoth issue was our 1999 buyer's
guide… Alan Cathcart tested the 1998 Honda NSR500… We covered
the Day In The Dirt from LACR.
Our 1989 buyer's guide was featured on the cover of Cycle News 30
years go… We had interviews with Ron Lechien, Randy Hawkins,
Bubba Shobert, Dale Quarterley and Hakan Carlqvist… We tested the
Yamaha FZR1000 and Kawasaki KDX200… We covered Dan Smith's
win at the Laughlin Hare Scrambles… Mark Manniko won the Schreiber
Cup and El Trial de Espana… We also covered the Brad Lackey-hosted
Carlsbad Christmas Grand Prix.
Rex Staten won the 250cc Pro
class.
