FIRST TIMERS
No American trios cracked the top three
in the Club team challenge, the RPM/
Mt. Baker team of Cooper Abbott, Ryan
Kudla and Dante Oliveira coming clos-
est by finishing fourth. Oliveira made
his ISDE debut impressively, finishing
sixth Club rider overall and fifth C2 (the
Club team version of E2), backed up
ably by fellow first-timer Abbott, who
also earned a gold medal for eighth C2.
In the final motocross tests, Oliveira not
only won his C2 moto but in doing so
set the day's fastest Club time overall.
Kudla earned his first gold medal in his
third Six Days after finishing 19th C2.
BAKER'S VICTORY
In just his second Six Days, J.T. Baker
set some clear goals and achieved
them. Starting well, the SRT Racing rider
traded the C3 lead with Sweden's Adam
Andersson until taking it for keeps on day
five. Though the team lost Ty Tremaine
who crashed out on day two, costing the
team which finished 82nd, Baker and
first-timer Kendall Norman (the multi-time
Baja champ claiming gold in his first
ISDE with a 12th in C2) rode confidently
in the trying conditions.
