KICKER
ARENACROSS
WINTER SERIES
EXPANDS
T
he Kicker Arenacross Winter Series is
hoping to help pick up where the Amsoil
Arenacross Series left off. The already exist-
ing Kicker AX Series announced that it is
expanding for the 2018-'19 season.
"Professional and amateur arenacross
racing is alive and thriving, and the upcoming
Kicker Arenacross Winter Series will prove
just that," said Tod Hammock, president and
founder, Cycle City Promotions. "We have
added markets and venues to this year's lineup that were previously held by the Amsoil Arenacross, and
with more money and bigger prizes, there's no doubt this series will be our biggest one to date."
The 17-round Kicker Arenacross Winter Series, which will visit 10 different venues, gets underway No-
vember 10 in Hobbs, New Mexico, and concludes March 2 in Amarillo, Texas. The new additions to the
tour include the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico; the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City,
Utah, and the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. CN

DAN VILLOPOTO
PASSES
D
an Villopoto, the father of multi-time Super-
cross and Motocross Champion Ryan Vil-
lopoto, passed away, Wednesday, October 31.
Villopoto reportedly suffered a heart attack
and died while spending the day riding with
friends at Cahuilla MX Park in Anza, California.
On Thursday, November 1, Ryan Villopoto posted on
Instagram: This world we live in is a giving place but
at the same time it can be cruel. I spent the last six
weeks with my dad day in and day out working and
training for the upcoming races overseas. For the
first time in a long time it was real again, like when
I [was] young. But yesterday god called him home
with a massive heart attack. Words can not express
the depth of my emotion. He was a great man and
an even better father. He's with the lord now so I
know he's in great hands. Love you Dad! You will be
sorely missed by all. #youmadewhoiamtoday
Dan and his wife Kristen were both heavily involved
in Ryan's racing career, often seen in the pits together
on race day. In fact, Dan handled wrenching duties
for Ryan at the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas last
month. CN
