"After Monster Cup we came back and we had our team photo shoot/intro. And he hasn't had any time off, so he's actually in France right now on vacation. Their year is long and tough on them and they deserve a break." France wasn't without representation, however, as Christophe Pourcel and Cedric Soubeyras made the trip to the U.S. for the event. Pourcel con- tested both classes, and even got to square off with Ryan Villopoto, his former Pro Circuit Kawasaki team- mate, in one of the brackets. FOR THE FIRST TIME… "This is only my second time ever on a 250 two-stroke," Jordon Smith confessed. For many of the racers, they haven't been on a two-stroke since their amateur days, and some had never raced a two-stroke in their pro careers. Even Ryan Dungey Briefly... Jordon Smith (28) and Villopoto went head to head to decide the final spot on the podium. Villopoto edged out Smith for the race for bronze.
