On the smaller displacement
machines (allowing up to 150cc),
timing was even more important
on the technical course, packed
with technical rhythms and
speed checks. In the first half
of the track, only the top riders
were able to triple-triple instead
of double their way through,
but of course, staying low and
smooth also paid off. Many of

In the 125 division, it was Carson
Brown who emerged victorious
aboard his Jensen-built HMC
Husqvarna TC 125, besting AJ
Catanzaro in the final matchup
for the overall win. Luke Ren-
zland claimed third after beating
Chase Marquier.
"It was craziness, the whole
day from start to finish," said
Brown. "I got first position on
qualifying. I was like, 'Oh man,' I
wasn't really expecting that. Kept
the momentum rolling through
the whole night show and it was
cause it's like now he can come
back and he doesn't have to win.
Like I don't have to win. I'd like
to. I'd like to stand on top of the
box, but I think the fans win and
my sponsors win and I win when
we're just out here."
As laid back as they might be
after the race, it was all business
when the gate dropped. Dungey
and Villopoto went at it hard, but
in the second bracket it came to
a quick end when Villopoto ac-
cidentally crossed the chalk line
after scrubbing a jump, resulting
in an automatic loss.
