SUPERCROSS RED BULL STRAIGHT RHYTHM OCTOBER 20, 2018 FAIRPLEX AT POMONA / POMONA, CALIFORNIA P80 just so much fun. 125s, all two- strokes, just pinning 'em, finding big rhythm with your buddies, I mean, it doesn't get any better than that!" On the smaller displacement machines (allowing up to 150cc), timing was even more important on the technical course, packed with technical rhythms and speed checks. In the first half of the track, only the top riders were able to triple-triple instead of double their way through, but of course, staying low and smooth also paid off. Many of 125 DIVISION In the 125 division, it was Carson Brown who emerged victorious aboard his Jensen-built HMC Husqvarna TC 125, besting AJ Catanzaro in the final matchup for the overall win. Luke Ren- zland claimed third after beating Chase Marquier. "It was craziness, the whole day from start to finish," said Brown. "I got first position on qualifying. I was like, 'Oh man,' I wasn't really expecting that. Kept the momentum rolling through the whole night show and it was cause it's like now he can come back and he doesn't have to win. Like I don't have to win. I'd like to. I'd like to stand on top of the box, but I think the fans win and my sponsors win and I win when we're just out here." As laid back as they might be after the race, it was all business when the gate dropped. Dungey and Villopoto went at it hard, but in the second bracket it came to a quick end when Villopoto ac- cidentally crossed the chalk line after scrubbing a jump, resulting in an automatic loss.
