P132 50 Years Ago OCTOBER 31, 1968 LOOKING BACK We covered the High Sierra M.C. Motocross at Mammoth Mountain, and pictured on the cover 50 years ago was the Bultaco-mounted sidehack team of Marvin Le Blanc and Fred Soteros seen getting a little excited during the day… J.N. Roberts continued to rule the desert this time winning in Adelanto, California… We covered flat track racing from Ascot, where Gene Romero took the win, giving him good confidence going into the upcoming 8-Mile National… Amateur racer Mark Brelsford also got a confidence booster at Ascot after winning the Expert main and Expert Trophy Dash TT. (Left) Twenty years ago, Doug Henry won the first muddy moto at the MX des Nations at Foxhills, but Team Belgium would go on to win. (Below) Mark Brelsford was the top amateur racer at the Ascot TT 50 years ago.
