FLAT TRACK
AMERICAN FLAT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 17 / SEPTEMBER 29, 2018
CANTERBURY PARK / MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA
P56
"I
'd rather be lucky than good any day," said
Bryan Smith after he inherited the win in the
AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines main
event at the Indian Motorcycle Minnesota Mile. In
this case, Smith (Indian Motorcycle/Allstate Motor-
cycle Insurance Indian Scout FTR750) was both.
Smith who had captured his first win of 2018 with
a dramatic last lap pass at Springfield needed no
such thing on the Canterbury Park mile oval.
Chad Cose (Indian Motorcycle of Oklahoma
City/Englehart Research & Technology Indian
Scout FTR750) led the 18-rider field into the first
turn, but it was defending and current AFT Twins
Champion Jared Mees (Indian Motorcycle/Rogers
Racing Indian Scout FTR750) with the lead at the
end of lap one over Smith and Cose.
Bryan Smith takes
the checkered flag
all alone at the
Minnesota Mile.
