ing himself another victory. Behind him a three-rider
battle broke out between Ljunggren, Cervantes and
Walker for second. Cervantes was the first to falter,
allowing Walker into third place and also ending his
chance of a possible third overall. Walker pushed
Ljunggren hard for second, but he couldn't pass the
Swede and had to settle for third. Still, that gave him
second overall with Ljunggren's second place in the
final, boosting him to third overall.

Dusty Times
Rural "nuisance dust"
would be regulated by
state and local officials
rather than the EPA under a bill approved by
the U.S. House on December 8, according to
the AMA. The House approved the bill by a 268 to
150 bipartisan vote. The
measure - H.R.1633, the
Farm Dust Regulation
Prevention Act of 2011
- now goes to the Senate
for consideration. The bill
would bring much-needed certainty to the OHV
community by exempting
rural nuisance dust from
EPA regulation and allowing states and localities
to regulate it, said Wayne
Allard, AMA vice president
for government relations.
No More Big Mac
Former 500cc Grand
Prix racer Rob McElnea
won't be fielding a team
in the 2012 British Superbike Series after 20 some
years of racing in the domestic series. "It has been
a tough decision, but the
right one after a difficult
season where it was frustrating to be unable to
secure a good return for
our backers in terms of results," McElnea said. "We
all go to racing to be part
of a show and I want to
ensure our team performs
not only for the fans, but
also for our sponsors too.
I felt the options available
to us would mean another
tough season with difficult
challenges so I feel it is
the best decision to reevaluate our position during our 2012 sabbatical
and hopefully come up
with a storming proposal
for the future."
