We rode the new 1999 Honda CR125R and CR250R motocrossers
and we pictured the CR250R in action on the cover 20 years ago…
We covered Eric Bostrom's AMA Superbike win at Pikes Peak
International Raceway… Doug Henry finished off his championship-
winning season with a victory in the 250cc class at Steel City
Raceway in Pennsylvania; Robbie Reynard won the 125cc class for
the first time in three years… Chris Carr won the Springfield Mile…
Mick Doohan won the Road Race Grand Prix at Imola.
Eddie Lawson was pictured on the cover of Cycle News 30 years
ago for clinching the 1988 FIM Road Race World Championship
at the Czech Grand Prix. It was Lawson's third title… Scott Parker
won the Springfield Mile… We featured an interview with AMA
125cc National MX Champion George Holland… We covered
amateur racing from Washougal but taking the headlines was Vet
Pro winner Rick Burgett… Our latest test bike was the 1988 BMW
